President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid tribute to members of Nigeria’s Armed Forces and other security agencies for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation, assuring them that their sacrifices in the fight against insecurity will never be forgotten.
In a message shared on his official social media platform, the President praised military personnel, police officers, intelligence operatives, and other security agents for their courage and dedication in confronting terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, insurgency, and other security threats across the country.
Tinubu described the nation’s security personnel as the protective shield standing between law-abiding citizens and criminal elements seeking to destabilise communities and undermine national peace. He noted that troops and security operatives continue to serve under difficult and often dangerous conditions, operating in forests, border regions, highways, waterways, and remote rural communities to ensure the safety of Nigerians.
According to the President, the fight against insecurity has required immense determination and resilience from security agencies, many of whom have endured physical danger, emotional stress, and extended periods away from their families in the line of duty. He said their professionalism and patriotism have remained crucial to ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in troubled parts of the country.
The President’s remarks come at a time when security forces are intensifying operations against terrorist groups, armed bandits, kidnappers, oil thieves, and other criminal networks operating in different regions of Nigeria. Recent military offensives and coordinated security operations have resulted in the rescue of kidnapped victims, the neutralisation of criminal elements, and the recovery of weapons and other illicit materials.
Tinubu also extended special recognition to the families of military and security personnel, acknowledging the sacrifices they make in supporting loved ones serving on the frontlines. He noted that many families endure prolonged separations, uncertainty, and emotional hardship while their relatives carry out national assignments in high-risk environments.
The President further honoured officers and personnel who lost their lives while defending the nation, describing them as heroes whose courage and service will remain part of Nigeria’s history. He pledged that the government would continue to remember and honour their contributions while working to improve the welfare of serving personnel and the families of fallen heroes.
Security analysts say such recognition is important for boosting morale among troops and reinforcing public appreciation for the efforts of security agencies. However, they also stress that sustained support through improved equipment, better welfare packages, enhanced training, healthcare, housing, and insurance benefits remains essential for maintaining operational effectiveness.
The administration has repeatedly stated its commitment to strengthening the nation’s security architecture through increased investment in military hardware, intelligence gathering, inter-agency cooperation, and technological capabilities aimed at tackling emerging threats.
As security forces continue operations across various parts of the country, the President reiterated that the government remains committed to supporting those on the frontlines and ensuring that their dedication, bravery, and sacrifices receive the recognition they deserve.
The message serves as both a morale boost for security personnel and a reminder of the critical role they play in protecting lives, preserving national unity, and maintaining peace and stability across Nigeria.
