Nafiu Kangiwa has dismissed reports that he withdrew from the 2027 House of Representatives contest, insisting that his candidacy remains intact.
Nafiu Kangiwa, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency in Kebbi State, has denied reports that he has withdrawn from the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Kangiwa, in a statement issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi, described the reports as false and insisted that he remains committed to contesting the election under the ADC platform.
According to him, he personally obtained the party’s nomination form and completed all the necessary requirements set by the ADC and relevant electoral authorities.
He said he had neither withdrawn from the race nor issued any statement announcing such a decision.
‘Reports Are Completely False’
Kangiwa described the reports of his alleged withdrawal as “completely false, baseless and without any foundation.”
He called on those spreading the information to stop misleading the public and creating unnecessary confusion among his supporters and other political stakeholders.
The candidate urged politicians and their supporters to focus on issues, ideas and their plans for the people rather than resorting to misinformation.
Kangiwa Reaffirms 2027 Ambition
Kangiwa reaffirmed his intention to contest the Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.
He assured his supporters that his political ambition remained unchanged and that he would continue to comply with the ADC’s guidelines and Nigeria’s electoral regulations.
He also urged residents of the constituency and members of the public to disregard any report suggesting that he had abandoned the race.
“Rumour will not replace the truth,” Kangiwa said.
The development comes as political activities intensify across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.
