Recognition highlights DaveLabs’ Amaka AI platform, which is reshaping how African students learn through multilingual, AI-powered visual instruction
BANJUL, THE GAMBIA / ABUJA, NIGERIA — Papyrus Global has named Godswill Iyke Dave, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of DaveLabs, as the recipient of the Africa’s Most Outstanding Emerging CEO in EdTech Innovation — 2026 award, presented at the 9th edition of the Global Distinguished CEOs Awards (GLODICEA 2026).
The award recognizes Dave’s leadership in applying artificial intelligence to education — most notably through Amaka AI, a visual reasoning and AI-assisted learning platform built under DaveLabs that is redefining how students across the continent engage with difficult academic concepts.
Teaching the way a great tutor would
Where most digital learning tools rely on static text or pre-recorded video, Amaka AI takes a fundamentally different approach: it draws, animates, and explains concepts in real time — much like a teacher working through a problem on a whiteboard. Focused on mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, the platform uses AI-powered visual reasoning to break down abstract ideas into something learners can actually see and follow, step by step.
Built for Africa’s linguistic reality
What sets Amaka AI apart further is its commitment to linguistic inclusion. The platform currently supports 14 languages, including major African languages such as Wolof, Mandinka, Fula, Jola, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and Swahili — a deliberate design choice that reflects DaveLabs’ belief that effective education technology must meet learners in the languages they think and learn in, not just the languages that are easiest to build for.
This combination — rigorous STEM content, visual-first pedagogy, and deep multilingual support — positions Amaka AI as a distinctly African answer to a global challenge in educational access.
A vision spanning multiple disciplines
Under Dave’s leadership, DaveLabs has pursued a multidisciplinary technology strategy that draws on artificial intelligence, computational intelligence, mathematics, physics, and software engineering. The GLODICEA 2026 recognition credits this integrated approach for successfully translating advanced AI research into a practical, scalable tool that is already changing outcomes for learners.
A moment of recognition — and responsibility
In his official Letter of Acceptance, dated 22 September 2026, Dave expressed gratitude to Papyrus Global and the GLODICEA 2026 Selection Committee, while placing the credit for the achievement squarely on his team. He specifically acknowledged the DaveLabs team’s role in building Amaka AI and integrating African languages into the platform’s AI-assisted learning experience — describing it as central to the recognition.
Dave confirmed he will attend the GLODICEA 2026 Award Ceremony and Gala in Abuja to accept the honor in person.
