The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has announced a slate of festive programmes designed to engage women and children across all 31 local government areas during the December holiday season.
Lady Obareki unveiled the plans on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, during the November edition of the Akwa Ibom State Women Monthly Prayer Service. She delivered the Bible reading and conveyed programme details through the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Inibehe Silas.
According to the First Lady designate, the end-of-year events will feature Christmas carols, fun competitions, games, gift exchange, and the highly anticipated “ARISE Queen” contest, designed to promote creativity and community spirit among women and young girls.
She also charged wives of local government chairmen to collaborate with community stakeholders in boosting grassroots mobilisation for Governor Umo Eno’s second-term bid, saying the administration’s developmental strides require sustained support across the state.
At the service themed “There Is More (The Eleventh Hour God)”, guest minister Pastor Ekaette Kufre preached on the power of divine intervention during life’s most critical moments. She emphasised that the “eleventh hour” symbolizes hope, restoration, and unexpected breakthroughs for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.
The service featured intercessory prayers and thanksgiving sessions led by women born in November.
