APC E-Registration Kicks off in Enugu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally launched its electronic membership registration exercise in Enugu East Senatorial Zone, marking a strategic effort to build a digitally verifiable party register ahead of the 2027 general elections. The flag-off event took place on January 12, 2026 at Akwugo Ward 2 in Nkanu West Local Government Area, signalling the start of intensified party mobilisation at the grassroots.

The exercise was inaugurated in the hometown of the Executive Chairman of Nkanu West LGA, Hon. Chukwuma Ogbodo, with party officials describing the initiative as a vital step toward strengthening APC’s organisational structure at the ward and local government levels. Organisers said the drive aims not only to increase membership numbers but also to ensure credible, transparent and data-driven party records.

Uche Kelvin Edeh, Zonal Coordinator of the APC E-Registration for Enugu East, said the launch represents more than just compiling names, framing it as part of the party’s broader strategy to consolidate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and enhance the party’s electoral competitiveness across the state.

Edeh noted that strong collaboration with local government leadership and ward agents is essential for the smooth implementation of the exercise, underscoring that effective grassroots engagement will be key to the party’s success in future polls. He also highlighted the importance of technological tools in capturing accurate membership data and overcoming operational bottlenecks during the process.

Political analysts say the APC’s e-registration campaign is part of a nationwide push by the ruling party to solidify its base, modernise internal party systems, and galvanise support ahead of the next election cycle.
