Governor Siminalayi Fubara
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dismissed reports claiming he has defected to the National Democratic Congress, insisting that he remains a member of the All Progressives Congress.
Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Wednesday, Fubara described the reports as false and based on misinformation circulating on social media and other platforms.
He said there has been “a lot of drama” in the public space, but stressed that his political status has not changed. “I am a member of the All Progressives Congress, and nothing has changed,” he stated.
The governor urged Nigerians to verify information before sharing it, warning against the spread of speculation that could distort public understanding of political developments.
He also said he remains fully committed to the APC, repeating that he has not defected to any other party.
“I have not gone anywhere. I am still a member of the All Progressives Congress,” he added, reaffirming his loyalty to the party.
Fubara further called for unity within the political structure, saying party members should prioritise collective interests over personal or factional disagreements.
According to him, political activities should be guided by the broader goal of supporting the stability and progress of the party, rather than rumours or internal tensions.
