The National Business and Technical Examinations Board, National Business and Technical Examinations Board, has extended the registration deadline for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination into technical colleges across the country.
According to the board, the new closing date for registration is May 31, 2026, while the examination date has also been shifted from June 6 to June 13, 2026.
The announcement was made in a statement issued in Benin City by the Assistant Director of Media and Protocol, Mr Uchechukwu Olisah, following approval from the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Aminu Mohammed.
Olisah explained that the adjustment was communicated through an internal memo signed by the Director of Examinations Administration, adding that the extension was granted in response to appeals from candidates who requested more time to complete their registration.
He urged prospective candidates to take advantage of the extension period to complete all required processes before the new deadline.
He also encouraged students interested in technical and vocational education to seize the opportunity to enroll in technical colleges, describing it as a pathway to skill development and entrepreneurship.
NABTEB said the National Common Entrance Examination remains a key gateway for admission into technical colleges nationwide, aimed at promoting practical skills and workforce readiness among Nigerian youths.
