In a bold move aimed at revitalizing Nigerian sports from the inside out, the Nigeria Olympians Association (NOA) has announced plans to host a National Sports Summit from July 22 to 24, 2025, in Abuja.
The summit, which will bring together Olympic medalists, national team coaches, sports development experts, and policymakers, is expected to produce a roadmap for solving Nigeria’s persistent challenges in athlete management, sports funding, and infrastructure.
NOA President Henry Amike said the summit will focus on five key pillars: grassroots development, athlete welfare, coaching certification, federation accountability, and sports diplomacy.
“This is not a talk shop,” Amike noted. “We are drawing from the lived experience of Olympians who have seen what excellence requires. This summit is about putting our athletes first again.”
The summit will also spotlight the role of the private sector, with top Nigerian brands invited to explore partnerships in sports marketing, sponsorship, and league development.
