The Nigerian Army has announced a string of operational successes in its nationwide offensive against terrorists, bandits and kidnappers, with the military reporting that at least 47 fighters have been neutralised over the past 72 hours and more than 30 abducted civilians rescued across multiple fronts.
In coordinated land and air operations based on credible intelligence, troops engaged hostile elements in the North-West and North-Central regions, including Sokoto State, where security forces ambushed militants and recovered weapons, communication equipment and other supplies associated with criminal networks. The rescued hostages, which included women and children, were safely evacuated, received initial medical care and reunited with their families.
The Army’s statement highlighted the intelligence-driven, joint and people-centric posture of the ongoing campaign, aimed at dismantling organised criminal groups and protecting lives, property and critical infrastructure. It reaffirmed the institution’s resolve to sustain momentum through continued partnerships with other security agencies until a stable and secure environment is achieved nationwide.
