Radda: Tinubu’s Reforms Helping Katsina Fund Projects Without Borrowing

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda says President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms have helped the state execute major development projects while paying workers’ salaries and pensions without taking loans.

Radda made the remarks on Sunday at the Tinubu/Dikko Assured (TDA) 2027 Islamiyya Teachers’ Empowerment, School Commissioning and Virtual Commissioning of 45 Solar Streetlights held at the Continental Events and Sports Complex in Katsina.

The governor said government performance should be judged by tangible achievements and measurable results rather than political rhetoric.

According to him, Katsina has moved away from relying on borrowing to meet its salary obligations, while his administration has executed projects worth more than ₦30 billion without taking loans.

Radda Defends Financial Management

Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent financial management, insisting that all ongoing projects in the state were being funded without borrowing.

He said the ability to combine infrastructure development with the regular payment of salaries and pensions demonstrated the impact of improved financial management.

The governor also praised the TDA initiative for its grassroots interventions, particularly its support for Islamiyya school teachers.

As part of the event, Radda announced a personal donation of ₦10,000 each to 690 beneficiaries, amounting to ₦7 million.

He urged citizens, businesses and philanthropists to support government efforts through community-based projects, stressing that sustainable development requires collective participation.

Governor Warns Against Misinformation

Radda also cautioned residents against allowing misinformation to overshadow what he described as genuine development across the state.

He challenged political aspirants to focus on practical solutions and present clear development plans to voters rather than relying solely on political rhetoric.

Masari Praises Tinubu, Radda

Former Katsina State Governor and Chairman of TETFund, Aminu Masari, said public officials must remain focused on improving citizens’ welfare.

Masari described the achievements of Tinubu and Radda as visible across several sectors.

He pointed to federal infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and strategic road networks, as well as improvements along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway, saying such projects could support economic growth and agricultural productivity.

The Director-General of TDA 2027, Umar Zayyad, said the organisation had expanded its interventions to Islamiyya schools as part of its focus on education and community development.

He attributed the initiative to Tinubu’s leadership and said the President had expressed satisfaction with Radda’s performance during his recent visit to Katsina.

Meanwhile, the Katsina State APC Deputy Chairman, Bala Musawa, praised the governor’s empowerment programmes and development initiatives.

He expressed confidence that the APC would maintain its dominance in Katsina during the 2027 general elections.

The event was attended by government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders, business representatives and other dignitaries from across the state.
