Russian forces have carried out sustained attacks across Ukraine over the past 24 hours, with multiple strikes occurring overnight into Friday, leaving at least one person dead and several others injured.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia launched about 210 strike drones overnight, including around 140 Iranian-made “Shahed” drones used in attacks on Ukrainian territory.
In a statement on Telegram, he said the continued strikes targeted energy infrastructure, critical facilities, and civilian areas, calling for stronger international pressure and expanded sanctions against Russia.
In the Kharkiv region, railway infrastructure including traction substations was hit, causing fires and widespread power outages affecting thousands of households. Additional strikes were reported in the Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions.
In the southern Odesa region, Governor Oleh Kiper said Russian drone strikes damaged port and residential infrastructure in the Black Sea city of Odesa, injuring at least two people. Several high-rise buildings were damaged, with apartments destroyed and fires breaking out at impact sites.
In Mykolaiv, Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych reported drone attacks on residential areas, resulting in damage and fires, while urging residents to remain in shelters due to ongoing threats.
Ukraine also reported continued strikes in central and southern regions, including the Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson areas, where drones and artillery caused destruction to homes, administrative buildings, transport infrastructure, and fuel facilities. Officials confirmed further casualties, including deaths and multiple injuries.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has continued its own drone operations targeting Russian infrastructure, including reported strikes on a Black Sea port in Tuapse, where a fire broke out at an oil terminal.
Both sides continue to accuse each other of escalating attacks on critical infrastructure as the conflict intensifies across multiple fronts.
