Shakira and Burna Boy Release Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Anthem “Dai Dai”

Colombian superstar Shakira and Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy have released “Dai Dai”, the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, blending global sounds with a message of unity, resilience, and hope.

The song, whose title means “Let’s go” in Italian, carries themes of overcoming hardship and striving for success. It features lyrics in English and Spanish, alongside phrases in Italian, French, and Japanese, reflecting the tournament’s global spirit.

According to FIFA, all royalties from the track will go toward its Global Citizen Education Fund, aimed at raising $100 million to expand access to education and football opportunities for children worldwide.

Shakira, who last performed an official World Cup anthem with “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” in 2010, said the new song comes at a time when the world needs unity more than ever. She emphasized that education remains her lifelong passion, noting her parallel work in music and building schools.

She added that the anthem is not just entertainment but a call for collective action, particularly in supporting children’s education and empowerment.

Burna Boy’s collaboration brings a strong Afrobeats influence to the track, reinforcing the growing global impact of African music on international sporting events.

Shakira also confirmed she will headline a historic halftime show at the World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where she is expected to be joined by global stars including Madonna and BTS.

Organizers say the anthem is designed to capture the spirit of togetherness ahead of what is expected to be one of the most widely watched sporting events in history.
