THE PAPYRUS GLOBAL MAYORS CONFERENCE AND AWARD


The Management and Organizing Committee of the Papyrus Global and the Papyrus Global Mayors Conference and Award extend their heartfelt appreciation and profound gratitude to all distinguished keynote speakers, panelists, mayors, government officials, development experts, partners, delegates, and friends of Papyrus Global who contributed immensely to the success of the recently concluded Papyrus Global Mayors Conference and Award (PAGMACA), which took place at the Palms Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria.

The conference served as a remarkable platform for strategic dialogue, inclusive leadership conversations, grassroots development engagement, climate adaptation discussions, legislative accountability, urban planning, youth participation, and sustainable community transformation. The conference focused on key challenges facing local government administration in Africa, such as freedom of operation, accountability, and responsibility.

  • Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), for his keynote presentation on “Effective Leadership and Transformative Grassroots Development.”
  • Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR, KSG, former Deputy Governor, Plateau State and former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who served as Chairlady of the occasion and keynote speaker on “Inclusive Leadership for Youth, Women, and Vulnerable Groups.”
  • Honourable Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, Mandate Secretary, FCT Women Affairs Secretariat, for her goodwill address and contribution to discussions on women inclusion, community development, and participatory leadership.
  • Right Honourable Professor Aare Majeed Alabi, PhD, for his keynote presentation on “Legislative Oversight and Transparency in Local Governance.”
  • Professor I. I. Y. Malu, Department of Geography and Environmental Management, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Abuja, for his keynote presentation on “Flood Management.”
