President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, to participate in the Africa CEO Forum 2026, a major gathering of African heads of state, policymakers, and business leaders focused on investment, trade, and economic cooperation.

The President was received at the Kigali International Airport with full ceremonial honours, including a red-carpet welcome and guard of honour. He was met by senior Rwandan officials as well as members of the Nigerian delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu.

Also present to receive him were the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires in Rwanda, Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna, and Presidential media adviser Sunday Dare.

Footage from the arrival shows President Tinubu disembarking from a Nigerian Air Force aircraft before being formally welcomed at the airport.

Shortly after his arrival, President Tinubu was received at the Urugwiro Presidential Village by Rwandan President Paul Kagame. Both leaders later participated in a ceremonial reception, walking side by side along a red carpet lined with honour guards.

The two presidents subsequently held a closed-door bilateral meeting, where discussions are expected to focus on strengthening trade relations, regional security cooperation, and expanding investment opportunities between Nigeria and Rwanda.

The Africa CEO Forum brings together key decision-makers from across the continent and global partners to explore strategies for economic growth, private sector development, and cross-border collaboration.

President Tinubu’s participation is expected to highlight Nigeria’s commitment to deepening economic partnerships across Africa and attracting foreign investment into key sectors of its economy.
