A political support group, the City Boy Movement, has launched a statewide mobilisation campaign in Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections, rallying support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The group says it is engaging men, women, and youths across all 13 local government areas of the state as part of its grassroots strategy to strengthen political support for the president.
Speaking at a leadership convergence meeting in Keffi, the State Director of the movement, Aisha Abdullahi-Adamu, said the campaign is driven by confidence in the ongoing reforms of the Tinubu administration, which she claimed are improving livelihoods across the country.
She assured supporters that the group would work to secure what she described as a “landslide victory” for the president in 2027, adding that mobilisation efforts would be intensified across wards and communities.
Abdullahi-Adamu also noted that the movement’s national leadership has directed state chapters to canvass support not only for President Tinubu but also for All Progressives Congress candidates ahead of party primaries scheduled for later this month.
According to her, the meeting also served as a strategic orientation session aimed at strengthening the group’s structure and preparing members for wider political engagement and mobilisation activities.
The Nasarawa State Coordinator of the movement, Khadijat Suleiman, said the group is youth-driven and focused on civic engagement, political mobilisation, empowerment, and grassroots participation. She announced the state motto as “Nasarawa United Building Nigeria,” adding that the group is committed to promoting national unity and development.
She also acknowledged the support of Seyi Tinubu, describing him as the group’s grand patron and a key figure in its coordination and outreach activities.
Another official, Hadizatu Allahnanan, highlighted key policies of the Tinubu administration, including economic reforms, infrastructure development, student loan schemes, tax reforms, local government autonomy, and small business support programmes. She said the group’s role is to create awareness and mobilise citizens in support of these initiatives.
The State Coordinator, Yahaya Jaji, urged members to remain united and focused, stressing that internal cohesion would be key to achieving the group’s political objectives. He also pledged transparent leadership and continued engagement with supporters across the state.
The event ended with interactive sessions and goodwill messages, attracting about 1,000 supporters, according to organisers, as the group formally outlined its roadmap for sustained political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
