President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended deep condolences to the government and people of Kano State following the sudden deaths of two members of the Kano State House of Assembly, describing the twin fatalities as sad and tragic. The lawmakers, Aminu Saad Ungogo (Ungogo) and Aliyu Sarki Daneji (Kano Municipal) died within hours of each other in separate incidents, leaving a significant void in representation for their constituencies.
In a formal condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu highlighted the painful loss and noted that the lawmakers’ departure deprived their constituents of committed leadership at a critical time. He commiserated with the families, the leadership and members of the Kano State House of Assembly, and the entire state populace as they mourn the departed legislators.
The President also prayed for the repose of their souls and for divine comfort and strength to be granted to their loved ones and associates. The dual deaths have triggered widespread grief across political lines in Kano, with tributes pouring in from state officials and party leaders.
