The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Dr. Biodun Collins Ogundipe, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a credible electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections, while stating that his campaign will rely on technology to safeguard votes cast for the party.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Abeokuta, Ogundipe expressed doubts about the electoral body’s neutrality but said his campaign had developed technological strategies to monitor the voting process and detect any attempt to manipulate election results.
According to him, the party is confident that every legitimate vote cast for the ADC in Ogun State will be adequately protected throughout the election.
Ogundipe also addressed the controversy surrounding the party’s governorship primary, insisting that he remains the duly recognised candidate of the ADC in the state.
He said the party’s national leadership had submitted his name to INEC, adding that anyone dissatisfied with the outcome of the primary should pursue the party’s internal appeal process or seek legal redress.
Beyond electoral matters, the governorship hopeful argued that Nigeria’s development depends largely on the quality of leadership, stressing that modern governance requires competence, innovation and technology-driven solutions rather than conventional political practices.
He maintained that addressing the country’s challenges would require leaders who are prepared to embrace strategic planning and deliver effective governance through modern approaches.
