Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to Nyesom Wike, has dismissed concerns that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is being distracted by his political activities in Rivers State.
Speaking during an interview Olayinka insisted that Wike’s involvement in Rivers politics does not interfere with his ministerial responsibilities, arguing that political engagement is crucial for any politician’s relevance.
He praised Wike’s ability to multitask, stating that his performance in the FCT is evident through ongoing infrastructure projects and urban renewal efforts. Olayinka further stressed that while no leader can solve every problem, Wike’s contributions in Abuja speak for themselves.
His remarks come amid criticisms from opposition groups who claim Wike is more focused on political battles in Rivers State than his duties in the nation’s capital.
