The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Professor Melvin Damian Ayogu as a member of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Board of Directors.
The confirmation followed the presentation and consideration of a report by the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions, chaired by Senator Adetokunbo Abiru (APC, Lagos East).
Presenting the report, Senator Osita Izunaso (APC, Imo West) noted that the nomination was in line with the CBN Act, 2007. President Bola Tinubu had requested the Senate’s approval, stating that Ayogu’s appointment would complete the composition of the Board of Directors.
