Former Labour Party governorship candidate in Enugu State, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga, has officially rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the platform that once sent him to the House of Representatives. His return, after nearly clinching the governorship under Labour Party in 2023, signals a significant realignment in Enugu’s political landscape.
Edeoga, who had been consulting political allies following a visit from top PDP leaders, made his defection official at the party’s office, where he was received by a massive crowd. In his speech, he expressed his delight at the turnout and thanked Governor Peter Mbah for his leadership, calling the occasion a turning point for politics in the state.
He acknowledged the role of PDP leaders in facilitating his return, emphasizing that the process involved extensive negotiations and strategic discussions. Edeoga assured supporters of his commitment to strengthening the PDP’s dominance in Enugu.
The event was attended by key Labour Party figures from Isi-Uzo, along with several former candidates from the last election, further cementing the shift in political momentum.
