GOVERNOR MUTFWANG VOWS TO IMPLEMENT REFORMS TO END PLATEAU KILLINGS

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has pledged to act decisively on recommendations designed to curb the cycle of killings and violent attacks that have plagued the state for years.

Speaking after fresh security assessments, the governor said his administration would prioritize a mix of community-based peacebuilding, stronger intelligence gathering, and rapid response measures. He emphasized that the killings, which have displaced communities and destroyed livelihoods, could no longer be tolerated.

Mutfwang assured citizens that perpetrators would be pursued and justice delivered, while victims would receive government support for rebuilding their lives. He added that restoring peace in Plateau is not only a state priority but a national responsibility, given the region’s history as a flashpoint for ethnic and religious violence.

The governor called on residents to support peace initiatives and urged the federal government to scale up its intervention to complement state efforts.
