Governor Umo Eno has called on the newly elected leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Akwa Ibom State chapter, to work together and collaborate with his administration in advancing the state’s Arise Agenda. Speaking after receiving the council at Government House, the governor urged them to prioritize development-oriented programmes over conflicts or ethnic divisions.
Governor Eno stressed that the youths must see themselves as one, irrespective of their backgrounds, and warned against being used to destabilize the state. He advised them to work with the Ministry of Youth Development in creating meaningful initiatives for empowerment, education, and entrepreneurship, assuring that his administration would support them fully.
Commissioner for Youths Development, Dr. Ekerette Ekanem, commended the governor for his commitment to youth empowerment and highlighted the successful conduct of the council’s election after two years of inactivity. The newly elected chairman, Emmanuel Uko Ekong, pledged to collaborate with stakeholders and drive initiatives that will positively impact young people in the state.
