The Senate Committee on Appropriation has approved a budget estimate of ₦140 billion for the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) in the 2025 fiscal year.
The allocation is designed to accelerate rehabilitation, reconstruction, and development projects across states in the North Central region that have been affected by insecurity, flooding, and infrastructure deficits. Lawmakers said the funding will target road construction, resettlement of displaced persons, and revival of key industries.
The committee assured that the commission will be closely monitored to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of the funds. Community stakeholders have expressed optimism that the intervention will boost socio-economic recovery in the region.
