TINUBU URGES CITIZENS TO “BET ON NIGERIA” AS COUNTRY MARKS NEW GROWTH DRIVE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians at home and abroad to “bet on Nigeria,” urging renewed confidence in the nation’s future despite current socio-economic difficulties.

Speaking at an anniversary event in Abuja, Tinubu said Nigeria was at the cusp of transformation, citing reforms in trade, infrastructure, and governance that he believes will reposition the country as a leading economic power in Africa. He argued that although citizens are facing hardship, the long-term gains of policy adjustments will bring stability and prosperity.

The president pointed to growing exports, rising investor interest, and ongoing infrastructure projects as indicators of progress. He stressed that optimism and collective sacrifice remain essential ingredients for national revival. “This is not the time to give up on our country. It is the time to bet on Nigeria,” he declared.

Tinubu’s comments come amid debates over fuel subsidy removal, currency volatility, and widespread strikes. His administration maintains that short-term pains are necessary for sustainable development.
