500 EDO WOMEN BENEFIT FROM TINUBU-ELUMELU FOUNDATION GRANT

At least 500 women entrepreneurs in Edo State have received funding and capacity-building support from the Tinubu-Elumelu Women Empowerment Programme, a collaborative initiative between the Presidency and the Tony Elumelu Foundation.

The beneficiaries, drawn from across the state, were awarded grants to support small and medium-scale businesses in agriculture, fashion, technology, and services.

Governor Monday Okpebholo, who attended the grant presentation in Benin City, described the programme as a bold step toward empowering women and reducing poverty. He emphasised that women in Edo are major contributors to the state’s economy and deserved targeted support.

The event also featured training sessions on business management, digital marketing, and financial literacy. Several beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying the grant would help them expand their ventures and provide employment opportunities for young people.

Officials from the Elumelu Foundation stressed that the programme aligns with its long-term vision of supporting African entrepreneurs and promoting inclusive economic growth.
