The House of Representatives on Tuesday October 7th formally inaugurated three new Members who emerged victorious in recent bye-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Those sworn in are Rep. Omosede Gabriella Igbinedion representing Ovia Federal Constituency in Edo State, Rep. Rabiu Mukhtar of Garki/Babura Federal Constituency in Jigawa State, and Rep. Fidelix Joseph Bagudu of Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State.
The Deputy Clerk of the House (Legislative), Mrs. Kehinde Florence Amos, administered the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Membership during October 7th Tuesday’s plenary.
The bye-elections were held on August 16, 2025, following the resignation of Rep. Dennis Idahosa to assume office as Deputy Governor of Edo State and the deaths of Rep. Isa Dogonyaro (Jigawa) and Rep. Ekene Abubakar Adams (Kaduna).
All three lawmakers contested and won on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). With their swearing-in, the House restated its resolve to guarantee uninterrupted representation for Nigerians while strengthening democratic institutions and inclusivity.
