Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has urged youths to leverage the numerous business opportunities created by his administration and embrace entrepreneurship as a pathway to prosperity.
Speaking at the Ibom Ignite 2025 Conference themed “Ignite to Accelerate” at the Ibom-LED Centre, Uyo, the Governor reminded participants of the vision behind the programme, which he first initiated in 2017 to encourage self-reliance among young people.
He narrated his own entrepreneurial journey, beginning with the establishment of the Royalty Group in 1995, and encouraged youths to develop passion, consistency, and resilience. “If you believe in a dream, live for it and avoid distractions. Don’t waste this opportunity,” he advised.
Guest speakers, including Obafemi Banigbe (CEO of Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services), Rev. Godwin Akpan Amaowoh of the Assemblies of God Church, and industry leaders, emphasized human capital investment, collaboration, and innovation as keys to progress.
The Governor also emphasized that success depends on both leadership and followership, calling on participants to take responsibility for building a prosperous Akwa Ibom.
