Dangote Industries has announced major sponsorship of the Kano International Trade Fair, running from November 22 to December 6, 2025, positioning the company as a key driver of the event. According to a statement by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Dangote is fully participating and expects over 1,000 exhibitors from Nigeria and abroad at the fair.
Chiejina emphasized Kano’s strategic importance to Dangote’s business operations, calling it a “hub of commerce … not only in Nigeria, but in Africa.” He noted that Dangote operates a large-scale rice mill in Kano, and is building additional rice plants in Jigawa, Zamfara, Niger, Kebbi, and Sokoto — together capable of milling 1.5 million tonnes per year.
In alignment with the fair’s theme, “Empowering SMEs for Sustainable Growth,” Dangote said its participation is aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises. The company’s plan includes dedicated helpdesks at the fair, to facilitate business engagement and potential partnerships.
On a special day dedicated to Dangote at the fair, the group will unveil new sugar packaging: 100-gram sachets and 25-kilogram bags, reflecting its adaption to evolving market demands.
The Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA), led by Ambassador Hassan Usman Darma, welcomed Dangote’s commitment. According to Darma, the fair will host more than 100 organizations in addition to the 1,000 exhibitors expected, and the upgraded fairgrounds reflect major infrastructure improvements.
Darma also reiterated the long-term goals of the partnership: strengthening SME capacity, enabling backward integration into Dangote’s value chain, and promoting industrial skills transfer in the region.
