The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Ali Pate, has withdrawn from the 2027 Bauchi State governorship race, citing national and state interests.
In a video message to the people of Bauchi State, the minister expressed regret over any disappointment caused to his supporters, noting that his decision was taken after careful consideration.
He thanked his supporters for their confidence and reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving in the health sector, particularly in improving maternal, child, and surgical healthcare services nationwide.
Pate stated that leadership is determined by God and pledged to support credible leadership that will drive development in Bauchi State.
He also urged youths to avoid violence and political thuggery, and called for support for the All Progressives Congress and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The minister further stressed the need for transparent and credible candidates, warning against the influence of money politics in the selection process.
