The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has faulted the claim by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) that it would deliver 3.5 million votes for Governor Okpebholo and President Ahmed Bola Tinibu in the 2027 elections.
In a statement issued in Benin City, the PDP Publicity Secretary described the figures as “unrealistic and deceptive,” urging the ruling party to focus on governance rather than making political boasts.
The PDP maintained that Edo people were more concerned about good governance, job creation, and social development than political grandstanding, adding that electoral victories are earned through performance, not rhetoric.
The opposition party reiterated its readiness to challenge the APC at the polls, promising to present credible candidates and issue-based campaigns in 2027.
