Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved a special ₦20,000 goodwill package for civil servants across Kano State ahead of the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The payment covers workers on Grade Levels 01 to 14 in state ministries and the 44 local government areas, following the successful payment of May 2026 salaries.
According to a statement from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the initiative is aimed at easing financial pressure on workers and enabling them to celebrate the festive season with greater comfort.
Governor Yusuf described the gesture as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, noting that civil servants remain central to effective governance and service delivery in the state.
The statement added that the decision was influenced by current economic realities and the rising cost of living, which often increases financial demands during festive periods.
It further explained that the support aligns with the government’s broader policy of inclusive governance and ensuring that no category of workers is left behind in state development efforts.
The governor also reaffirmed his commitment to improving productivity in the public service through consistent welfare support and motivation of workers across all levels.
He extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to civil servants and residents of the state, praying for peace, unity, and continued prosperity in Kano and across Nigeria.
