The Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, has called on the people of Etoi Community to sustain their support for Governor Umo Eno and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing continuity as the pathway to peace, stability and accelerated development in the state. Prince Uwah delivered the message during a new year meeting convened by the Chairman of the Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA), Hon. Anietie Eka, held at Obot Obom Community in Uyo Local Government Area on January 18, 2026.
During the gathering, Prince Uwah praised Governor Eno’s leadership and urged residents to participate actively in ongoing party and voter registration exercises, stressing that civic engagement is crucial to securing continued good governance. He also cautioned against encroachment on government land, warning that compliance with government policies is essential to avoid future conflicts.
The UCCDA chairman, Hon. Anietie Eka, described the event as part of his annual engagement with Etoi residents to strengthen grassroots unity. He noted that the meeting symbolized the unity of Etoi people across Wards 4, 5 and 6, and expressed confidence in the community’s readiness to support Governor Eno, President Tinubu, and all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
Several dignitaries and political leaders attended the meeting, including the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia, and the Leader of the Uyo Legislative Council, Hon. Ekemini Bassey, who praised Governor Eno’s performance and urged residents to support his return for a second term. A motion endorsing Governor Eno and President Tinubu was moved and seconded by councillors from Etoi Ward 5 and Ward 6.
The event also featured goodwill messages from former Assembly member Hon. Archibong Inyang, ward political leaders, and various community stakeholders, all pledging continued support for the governor and the president as the 2027 elections approach.
