Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has called for unity and renewed commitment among All Progressives Congress stakeholders in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, as his administration accelerates major infrastructural projects in the state.
Speaking at an APC stakeholders’ meeting tagged “Home Going,” held on November 22, 2023, in Ikot Edibon, the Governor reaffirmed that documentation for the long-awaited Ibom Deep Sea Port is progressing steadily, with federal support and investor consultations advancing.
He urged citizens to remain patient while the project undergoes necessary regulatory and investment processes, assuring that the port would soon become “a delightful reality for the common good.”
Governor Eno also outlined plans to construct three major dual-carriage corridors, including:Nung Udoe to East-West Road, Nung Udoe to Afaha Nsit, Afaha Offiong to Itreto
He emphasised that Akwa Ibom must align with the centre to benefit fully from federal opportunities, noting that the state is strategically positioned for accelerated development.
Welcoming the Governor, LGA Chairman Hon. Alfred Charles described the meeting as a home-coming for the Governor and praised the developmental strides recorded in Nsit Ubium and across the state.
APC leaders including Senator Effiong Bob, Captain Iniobong Ekong, Hon. Otobong Bob, and Obong Umanah Okon Umanah commended the Governor for his inclusive governance style and reaffirmed full support for his administration.
The meeting was attended by members of the State Executive Council, political stalwarts, business leaders, and a large cross-section of Nsit Ubium residents.
