“I Never Met Gbajabiamila” — PFIPC Boss Adeniyi Breaks Silence on Presidency Scandal

Adeniyi Adeyemi, who describes himself as the Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has opened up about his alleged relationship with the Presidency, claiming he never met Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila in person.

Speaking during an interview with social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), Adeyemi said every conversation he had with Gbajabiamila was facilitated by his late associate, Dolapo Tanimola.

According to him, the pair spoke on three occasions, but none of the conversations took place face-to-face or through a video call.

“I think three times I have spoken with Gbajabiamila, through my late friend, Dolapo Tanimola,” Adeyemi said, adding that their conversations were conducted remotely.

The latest revelation comes amid the controversy surrounding the PFIPC, an organisation the Presidency has repeatedly stated does not exist within President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In June, the Presidency officially distanced itself from the council, insisting it has no legal recognition or government backing. Gbajabiamila also denied any connection with Adeyemi, maintaining that neither his office nor the Federal Government appointed him to lead the purported organisation.

However, Adeyemi has continued to challenge those claims. During a press briefing on June 26, he questioned the authenticity of the disclaimer issued by the Chief of Staff earlier in the month and called for an independent investigation into the matter.

Reiterating that position during his interview, Adeyemi said he was not accusing Gbajabiamila of dishonesty but insisted that only a transparent investigation could establish the facts.

“I won’t say he is lying, and I won’t say he is telling the truth. That is why I appealed to Mr. President to constitute an investigative panel to uncover what really happened and identify everyone involved,” he said.

The interview comes shortly after Gbajabiamila threatened legal action against Adeyemi, demanding ₦10 billion in damages over allegations linking him to bribery and the death of Dolapo Tanimola.

As the controversy continues to dominate public discourse, President Bola Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the claims and submit its findings within 30 days.
