Hashimu Sulaiman Dungurawa, Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State, has strongly challenged the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming the party lacks the strength to secure victory in the 2027 general elections without Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Dungurawa made the remarks at a press conference in Kano.
According to the NNPP leader, both the state and national arms of the APC are “lost,” pointing to repeated overtures to Kwankwaso as evidence of internal weakness. “They know very well that without Kwankwaso, they will not win in 2027,” he said, insisting that the party’s efforts to woo the former governor underscore their desperation.
However, Dungurawa maintained that political reconciliation remains a possibility: he described Kwankwaso’s recent meetings with other political figures as “coincidental” rather than alliance-driven. He argued that the election results of 2023—when the NNPP performed despite being a relatively new party—reflect untapped political momentum that could challenge APC dominance.
